Jupiter enters CANCER on June 9 and brings water to an otherwise very dry planetary climate.

Jupiter entered Cancer on June 9, 2025, and will stay in the sign for more than a year. In the course of October and November 2025, it will form a long Grand-Trine in water signs with Saturn in Pisces, and personal planets in Scorpio (Mars, then Mercury, Sun, and Venus reaching the last degrees of Scorpio).

It will retrograde from November to March 2026 (water sign seasons), where it will turn direct @ 15 Cancer, considered an exalted degree for Jupiter. As Jupiter enters Leo late June 2026, it will be the last slower moving planet to be in a water sign for several years, as Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto all traverse dry Fire and Air signs for years to come.

In recent years in particular, the world seem to have lost its sense of safety – from the Covid-19 crisis, to the kidnapping of Ukrainian children, atrocities of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict with unrestrained assault on most vulnerable civilians, the brutal deportation of immigrants in the United States, to name but some of these deeply traumatic circumstances – grief and anxiety is overwhelming. When children are at the mercy of predatory forces, we know humanity is failing miserably. The Cancer essence in our psyche has been particularly shaken. We can ask ourselves if individuals with mothering instinct were ruling the world, would any of this happen? Instead, we see both men and women in positions of power who are removed of their feminine nature.

What does it practically mean to return the high priestess to her temple? This may be about:
  • Protecting what is vulnerable.
  • Being in touch with our true nature, unapologetically.

In its darkest expression, Jupiter in Cancer can reflect intense emotional identification with ideologies to a point of blind loyalty and absence of critical thinking. These beliefs can therefore turn fanatical because no outside influence is considered to balance them. In this context, it  is not uncommon to associate Jupiter in Cancer with blind nationalism, sometimes even xenophobia, disdain for and repulsion of strangers, those “who don’t belong.”
An example, a fellow named Eric Or woll has established a community of “white only” in Arkansas, himself in the thick of a Jupiter return in Cancer, as he openly advocates for his “novel” idea.

Will Jupiter in Cancer exacerbate blind nationalism and xenophobia, or bring healing as a welcoming host?

Jupiter makes a dramatic entrance into Cancer as it immediately squares Saturn and Neptune newly in the sign of Aries in June 2025. This strong Cardinality suggests new chapters in our lives, on a personal and geo-political level. People tend to reinvent themselves during strong Cardinal transits, whether that translates into professional changes, relocation, or new relationships.
